Fintech Lovey moves into new Three Snowhill HQ with plans to grow to 300 staff
The Birmingham-founded business lender, ranked the UK's fastest-growing fintech by the FT, aims to more than double its 120-strong team.
Birmingham fintech Lovey has moved into a new 23,146 sq ft headquarters at Three Snowhill, with plans to more than double its workforce over the next five years.
The business lender and broker currently employs 120 people and aims to grow to as many as 300. The full team moves into the new office on 9 November, following a ribbon-cutting ceremony on 20 October attended by the leader of Birmingham City Council, Councillor Roger Harmer.
Built in Birmingham
Lovey was founded in Birmingham by Jack Smith in 2016. It has never taken outside investment, and says it has doubled its profits year on year. To date it has funded more than £600 million in loans to over 11,000 small and medium-sized businesses across the UK.
Its growth has been striking. Revenue rose from £1.87 million in 2022 to £19.07 million in 2025. The company was recently ranked the top fintech, financial services and insurance company in the Financial Times' list of the UK's fastest-growing companies, and was the only Birmingham-based business in the top 20.
The move follows Lovey securing a £250 million funding facility, the biggest deal in its history, which will allow it to lend more to small firms.
"We're only just getting started"
Smith said: "As a Brummie, moving into Three Snowhill means a great deal to me. Lovey was born in Birmingham and being named the UK's fastest-growing fintech and financial services company by the Financial Times and Statista, as a business built outside London, shows what this city is capable of.
"Three Snowhill gives us room to keep growing in support of our mission to make business lending simple, fast and beautiful, and we're only just getting started."
Councillor Harmer said: "It is fantastic news that the UK's fastest growing fintech and financial services company is expanding in our city. It's a real vote of confidence in Birmingham, and proof that this is a place where ambitious businesses can start, grow and thrive."
Rooms named after the city
The new office has 13 meeting rooms named after Birmingham landmarks, along with a mindfulness room, a podcast room and a lounge looking out over the Jewellery Quarter.
Property consultancy Carter Jonas advised on the move, Overbury carried out the fit-out, and the region's inward investment agency supported the business.
A boost for the city's finance sector
Birmingham already has one of the largest financial and professional services sectors outside London, and Snowhill, close to Snow Hill station and the Metro, is one of its key business districts. A homegrown company adding up to 180 jobs there is a welcome sign that the city can grow its own success stories, not just attract firms from elsewhere.
For jobseekers, the expansion means a steady stream of roles over the next five years at a business that has shown it can grow fast. For the small firms Lovey lends to, a bigger team and a larger funding pot should mean more finance available to help them grow too.
